F.A.Q Troubleshooting

Jevero License troubleshooting

This short document will explain how to reset and troubleshoot the license problems that may occur when using Jevero. As many other software to protect from copying Jevero uses a proprietary licensing model that will check for a valid license every 25 days. This will be done by asking a remote server the credentials connected with the license that is in use currently. This server is located at http://neola.valis.io

Resetting the license

In order to reset the license you will need to follow some manual steps:

  1. Close Rhino;
  2. Navigate to the path: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Design&Develop (or your installation folder, if different);
  3. Delete the files activation.dat and verify.dat, and go back to rhino and try to open it again.

Manually replacing the license

If something happen and you are in need to replace the license or install it brand new you need to:

  1. Copy the license file that is provided to you and place it in the folder C:\Users\Public\Documents\Design&Develop (or your installation folder, if different);
  2. rename the file from license-.dat to license.dat;
  3. restart Rhino.

Botcha License troubleshooting

  3. After confirming, Rhino will open and Botcha functionalities will be ready to be used! Enjoy Botcha!

Licensing details

The license is automatically stored inside your machine, if you need to manually replace it or delete it from your machine you can find it with the following:

  • On windows: type %appdata% into the searching bar and go into BotchaXRhino folder Search license
  • On macOS: use the finder and navigate to /User/Shared/Library/Application Support/ you can use cmd+SHIFT+G to type into a seach bar

The license together with the activation and verification file are found there. If you need to reset the license and force a check delete the activation.dat and verify.dat file.

Common licensing errors

Here we present a list of common errors that may occur when activating a license and how to potentially fix them, these errors will pop-up when starting the application (Rhino with Jevero installed).

Too many installations

The provided license does not allow further activations (too many installations), this happens when the license you are using has no more available nodes to be checked out. This means that you already have the purchased amount of computers that are using Jevero. Contact support to expand the number of licenses or mobilitate the license to another machine.

No license file found

No license file could be found or No license file found. Try to reinstall the plugin., this is happening because the software cannot find a proper license file within the installation folder. Either re-install with a proper license or copy a license.dat inside the installation folder.

Request time out

Request time out or No internet connection available or No response from new activation code request, these errors occur when a variety of internet connection problem happens. Check your internet and try again. Please note that if you are connected through VPN or proxy servers you need to tunnel also the requests for the plugin (requests are done over HTTP).

License is not verified

The license for this plugin is not verified, this is happening when there are some mismatch between the machine and the remote server. You should try to reset the license to fix this problem.

The license is not valid for the Jevero Pattern Tool activation, this happens when the license that you are trying to use is not a valid jevero license but it is for some other product.

Activation is expired or not valid

An online activation is required to activate the plugin. Make sure your machine is connected to the internet and try again or The activation is either expired or invalid or The activation is not valid for your license or The activation is not valid for this computer. These errors will appear when you copy an activation file from one computer to another. Licenses are checked out per node so each computer gets its own activation, if you copy this to another machine then the license system will detect an inconsistency and let you know that there are problems. Reset the license to check out another activation.

The provided signed license is not valid

The provided signed license is not valid, this happens when there is a problem with your license. Try to re-install the plugin with a valid license or contact support to get a fresh license.
